TeamSpeak: What Do Our Team Members Say About Their Journey With Us?

Just a few weeks back, we celebrated the 7th year since inception of FORMCEPT. We shared with you our exhilarating journey and the important milestones that we have achieved so far.

But, have you heard from our team members yet about their personal experience with FORMCEPT? Perhaps not, and since this exciting journey would not have been possible without them, we thought it would be great to hear from them what they have to say about their time here. We have team members who have worked with us since the day we started out, and also those who have just joined a few months back. Each of them have their own story to tell - are you ready to begin?

Today, we are in conversation with Ankayarkanni Rajendran, a graduate in Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil, who joined us about 6 months back. Her interests include sports, travelling and crafts-making…

Joining FORMCEPT

As a young and dynamic fresher, Ankayarkanni was recognized with the ‘Honourable Mention of  IEEE WIE Inspiring Student Member of the Year’ for 2018, while still in college. She had been an active IEEE Volunteer from 2016 and had volunteered in several technical, non-technical and humanitarian IEEE events. Earlier this year, when the campus placement drive kickstarted in her college, she came across FORMCEPT and found their work the fascinating field of data science to be innovative and exciting. When she appeared for the selection process, she knew that there was something different about it. “Unlike other recruiter selections that I appeared for, who tested us on generic questions, FORMCEPT actually tested our analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude. It was fun and challenging,” she says.  

She joined FORMCEPT in June 2018 as a Fresher and took on the task of working on Machine Learning and Data Analytics.

New Beginnings with Intensive Team Support

The first thing that Ankayarkanni noticed was the amazing team that she had just became a part of. The fine balance between friendly yet thoroughly professional environment was the recipe for making her comfortable from day one. “One of the best things to be a new team member in FORMCEPT is that they are with you from the moment you enter the office. I was given a comprehensive training and whenever I have any doubts or queries, I can approach anyone from my peers to the CEO. Everyone is highly committed to their work and wants to make a real difference to the organization and the industry as a whole. As a result, there is no pushing around.”

For example, coming from ECE background, Clojure was initially an advanced language for her. But, with support from the team, she soon gained working proficiency on the language and is looking forward to expanding her knowledge further through FORMCEPT’s conducive support system. She finds Machine Learning a captivating field that keeps her enthusiasm and learning quotient on full gear. Thanks to the passionate team that she is a part of, she already feels she has made a lot of progress in just 6 months.

Organization Culture

What is the first word that comes to her mind when she thinks about the organization culture? “Freedom,” she says. “It is an extremely open and transparent environment where everyone is working hard to achieve the same goals. We are always encouraged to speak our minds and come up with new ideas. Hard work is blended seamlessly with fun and interactions. We often chill out on Friday evenings, organize events, and share meals together. All in all, it has been a great experience so far and I surely look forward to learning and contributing more!”
